My Hidden Track (2006-2009)

Posted by Chad Forbregd3 Comments »

We have come to an extremely difficult decision. It has come time for us to move on from My Hidden Track and pursue other endeavors. After three years, this decision was not an easy one. We have recorded, played shows and promoted nonstop all while trying to balance relationships, friends, family, work, etc. and we don’t regret a single second of it. Despite what you may hear, no one was kicked out of My Hidden Track, nor has any action been taken out of malicious intent. Several weeks ago, the band sat down to talk and Chandler decided to leave the band so that he could concentrate on personal affairs. The remaining members of My Hidden Track (Chad, Nick and Pat) supported Chandler’s decision wholeheartedly and agreed that he was not in a position where the band could be one of his priorities. While it is not our place to air Chandler’s personal business, it is within our right to let you know that we did not reach this decision for him. Also it is to be noted that there is not one single contributing factor leading up to this decision, but rather many. We continue to respect Chandler and we hope he is able to better his personal situations as a result of this separation. After considering continuing on under the My Hidden Track name, we have decided that out of the respect of our accomplishments of “Hey Love” that there is no better way to end My Hidden Track’s three-year career. To all the fans that have loved and supported us, to all the bands that we have played with, to all the previous members of the band and to all the people who have talked to us, listened to us, or tried out to play with us, we thank you. We want to offer our profound thanks and gratitude; without you we never would have been able to do it. My Hidden Track fans truly are the best in the world. The three of us (Chad, Nick and Pat) will be carrying on playing music under a different name. We hope that all of you consider checking us out and at the very least give us an opportunity to share with you something we love, something that is honest, pure and straight from our heart. We apologize that we are not able to offer you a proper goodbye, but we want to thank you for your love, support and understanding.

From the bottom of hearts, thank you for all of your love and support,

My Hidden Track

Also, we are currently holding one final merch sale so that everyone can get a copy of “Hey Love” for cheap. We have a slew of debt from MHT that we need to climb out from behind. Admittedly, we need your help. Shortly after the last tour, the transmission went out in our van as well as the front and back brakes need replaced before it can be driven again. We are doing our best to save up to fix the van, but it has become overwhelming when balancing the monthly loan payment, insurance payment and the cost of our practice unit. We are not asking for donations or trying to guilt anyone into helping us out. We do, however, encourage you that if you have ever wanted a My Hidden Track CD or t-shirt to get one now before the store closes forever. All items are $5.00 plus shipping and each order will come extra little goodies, which could include anything from buttons and stickers to autographed CDs or an extra t-shirt. Quite literary we mean it when we say that everything must go. Again, thank you.

Absolute Punk Reviews Us Again!

Check it out here:

Reviewed by: Meeze (08/17/09)

Or here:
My Hidden Track – Hey Love
Record Label: Dare To Dream Records
Release Date: June 5, 2009

Who?
An upstart, pop-punk band hailing from Indiana. Hey Love is the first EP from My Hidden Track’s new line-up: Chandler Lehr (guitar/vocals), Nick Coffing (guitar/vocals), Chad Forbredg (bass), and Patrick Rud (drums).

How is it?
Decent. Average. Possibly a sign of good things to come from this Indiana quintet. Sporting the over-done dual vocals, MHT pound through eight, respectable pop-punk jams, leaving the listener dreaming of what could be a future stand-out in the Scene.

Hey Love starts out with a slow intro entitled “I Hope to God You Are” before bursting into the in-your-face “I Can’t Believe I Gave My Panties to a Geek.” Belting out such lines as “Cause you’re just a bitch / And you don’t mean shit,” “Panties” is definitely a standout on Hey Love and it really showcases the honest-to-god lyrics that Nick Thomas (The Spill Canvas) would be proud of. Layered guitar work laces this and every other track on the EP. Along with “Panties” the other stand out tracks are “I Gave Her My Heart, She Gave Me A Pen” (my personal favorite) and “Son of a Bitch, He Stole My Line.” All three of these songs use great pop hooks coupled with gang-vocals and on-point guitar work.

Where Hey Love falters is in the production value. Too often, the songs blend together, forcing the listener to replay the EP several times just to realize that there are eight songs. The last two songs, “Chances” and “Not Blaming California,” are great examples of this blending. In addition, the lyrical content is sure to please high school kids, but other than that segment of the population, the lyrics are forgettable and mediocre. MHT would have been better off only having four or five tracks on this EP, for songs such as “February 17″ and “And I Said I Didn’t Think Anyone Was Ever Old Enough” have little lasting value. All in all, though, My Hidden Track have shown much potential with Hey Love and are sure to please the Warped Tour crowds for a while.

#1 Requested Artist on FearlessRadio.com

Posted by Chad ForbregdNo Comments »

I just wanted to write to catch everyone up to speed with what’s been going on with My Hidden Track. We had an amazing weekend, it was such a blessing to be able to be a part of both our boys Same As Sunday (www.myspace.com/sameassunday) and At Rifts End’s CD Release shows. I encourage you all to stop by our friends in At Rifts End’s page (www.myspace.com/atriftsend). We wish Haleigh a speedy recovery with her injury… I think fate has decided her career path… soccer is out… professional front woman is in. Haleigh really does have a beautiful voice and we loved getting to play with them in their hometown (or close to it, are you guys technically from Bradley?).

This past week has been filled with great news, not only does our music video for our single “I Gave Her My Heart, She Gave Me A Pen” have 1000 views on youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odYEU6ub0CU) But also Seth and Zach of Dare To Dream Records officially announced on Absolutepunk.net that they’ve started a record label and “Hey Love” is their first release. (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=1163622)

We received a tweet the other night (Yes, that’s right we tweet… feel free to judge us @myhiddentrack) to let us know that we officially beat Forever The Sickest Kids out for the number one requested band on fearlessradio.com last week. We are beyond excited. We love everyone involved with Fearless Radio and think they have a great thing going, we have every intention of making it up to their studio as soon as we can.

Things are currently in the works for a tour starting August 21st, we will keep you posted on details.

Our album is currently available on iTunes and at store.yournextaddiction.com.

In the next few days we will be steaming our entire album for free on purevolume.com so we will let you know as soon as that goes up.

We are practicing tomorrow and Wednesday gearing up for our big weekend. This Friday we will be visiting all of our friends in Highland, IN and Saturday we will be minutes away from Peter and Chad’s hometown in Goshen, IN when we play Lune’s CD Release Show (www.myspace.com/lunetheband)

Other than that… I/we wish you the best week possible…

If you need to contact us for any reason you can do so by contacting us on myspace or e-mail us at myhiddentrack@gmail.com or if you would like to reach me personally for any said reason you can do so at myspace.com/thisischad or chadforbregd@gmail.com… both options are two ways to stay in touch, field us questions, book shows, etc…

Tweet us when you’re good and ready,
Chad Forbregd and My Hidden Track

In Case You Didn’t Notice

Posted by Chad ForbregdNo Comments »

Hey guys, Chad (bass) from My Hidden Track here. First and foremost how the heck is everyone? I’m doing fairly well, just sort of killing time, eating soup, nursing a throbbing back while I wait for Peter (manager/ touring guitarist) to get home. What’s in store for us tonight? Good question. I smell a rendezvous with my boss at his house and then a trip to a biker party out in the middle of nowhere. I’m searching for my father. Ha. That doesn’t have to make sense, but I assure you it’s a good story.

CD RELEASE SHOW
Last Friday at the Emerson Theater (CD Release show) was unbelievable. I’ve been playing music live for close to a decade and I’ve never had a crowd response like that before. Incredible, absolutely incredible. We had friends, family and fans new and old crawl out of the wood work, at least as the expression goes. My only regret is that I didn’t have the time to thank each and every one of you personally for coming.

WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR ALBUM?
If you were at the show and forgot to pick up a copy of our new album HEY LOVE or perhaps STORE.YOURNEXTADDICTION.COM. Up until June 27th this is the only place you can find our album, with the only exception being one of our up coming shows. After June 27th our album will be available to buy off of iTunes and if everything goes as planned select Best Buy, FYE and Hot Topic locations.

WE STLL NEED YOUR HELP TO GET ON WARPED TOUR
I think there are like three or four days left to vote and it’d mean the world to us if you did. It’d be a dream come true to play Warped Tour.

WHERE CAN I HEAR YOUR NEW SONGS?
We just uploaded “I GAVE HER MY HEART, SHE GAVE ME A PEN” to our myspace page and there are two exclusive songs uploaded at our Warped Tour battle of the bands page. “AND I SAID I DIDN’T THINK ANYONE WAS EVER OLD ENOUGH” and “I CAN’T BELIEVE I GAVE MY PANTIES TO A GEEK” will be available to listen to for just a few more days so check them out.

WHEN ARE YOU GUYS EVER GOING TO GET NEW SHIRTS?
Also if you’re feeling exceptionally bored right now we just put up a handful of new shirts up at STORE.YOURNEXTADDICTION.COM as well… they’re there for you to buy, look at, lust over or judge, the choice is entirely yours.

I’M STARTING TO THINK YOU DIDN’T EVEN RECORD A MUSIC VIDEO
I received this e-mail from Peter a couple of nights ago. “Just an update on the Pen video. Travis/Chris have finished up the final cuts and have sent it to a northwestern alum friend of theirs in Chicago to color correct the HD video. He will be using a Da Vinci 2K color correcting system. We’ll have the final video up online within two weeks.” So that’s kind of crazy right? I’m so absolutely blessed to have gotten to work with Chris and Travis on this music video, these guys are geniuses.

BLAMING CALIFORNIA
Nick has officially left us for the SUMMER. I’m both heartbroken and jealous by this. Nick is off working in California at a camp and I know he’s going to do a hellva job and have a hellva time so everyone keep him in your thoughts and count down the days until he comes back. In the meantime Peter will be filling in on guitar… we are giving him the MHT crash course… it’s sounding great… I think you will all really enjoy it.

Peter is currently working on giving YOURNEXTADDICTION.COM a face lift and he’s always constantly tidying up our myspace so keep an eye out for constant updates.

We are still looking to go on tour for at least a week or so in August so if there is anyone that can help us set up shows, book shows, or have contacts that could help us that’d be amazing.

With Hope, Love and Rock and Roll,
Chad & MHT

A Brief Synopsis

Posted by Chad ForbregdNo Comments »

“It was true that I didn’t have much ambition, but there ought to be a place for people without ambition…”

Hey guys, Chad (bass) here… I thought i’d take this opportunity to catch you all up on the trials and tribulations of My Hidden Track over the last month or so. Well, a brief synopsis anyway, the poor man’s version, the cliff notes, etc. Just after our three (rushed and other wise nerve racking) song appearance at the Battle Of The Bands, MHT and company parted ways with our drummer and dear friend Zach Zimmerman due to personal reasons. There are no hard feelings by either party, in fact its quite the contrary, Zach is a great friend of ours and came out to support us or rather pretend to sell merch, at our first hometown show a couple of weeks ago. Last I checked Zach is still very much single and attractive… and that’s all i’m saying on that note… ladies and adventurous young men I highly suggest you contact him. A word of the wise first dates are bound to take place at the Olive Garden.

Coming to our aid for a show we had booked with our boys Asteria, we called upon good friend Pat Rud (Fish Guard/ Elephant Quiz/ Cheap Sticker) to fill in on drums. Only we didn’t know at the time just how good of a friend Pat would become. After about three days of practicing Pat not only knew and perfected the three songs we had written but helped us piece together and finish writing something like four more songs which had previously been drum-less. Words cannot express my gratitude for Pat and his talents. I only use such a cliche because I really don’t know how to pen on paper our thanks for the amount of time and effort he poured into the band on such short notice. (I.E. Canceling a trip to Florida and making trips back and forth from Bloomington.)

To our (for lack of a better word) dismay Pat has decided to join MHT as a permanent member. Not only do I not think it’d be impossible for us to be recording an album right now but I don’t think I could imagine anyone else playing drums on these songs. Pat is far beyond a “good friend” and a great musician, he’s family and despite his inability to drive in a straight line, or his flawed decision making skills as my co-pilot, there is no one I’d rather take the stage with to complete Track’s rhythm section or search for Polar Pops in the middle of the night with.

As for the logistics of this blog, Nick and Chad went into the studio early last week to begin preproduction on our forthcoming album entitled “HEY LOVE” and Peter (our manager), Pat and myself had the pleasure of joining up with Seth and Zach of Dare To Dream Records in their in-home studio in Crown Point, Indiana on Friday night. We completed drums on Saturday and bass on Sunday… and as of a couple hours ago I was delighted to get a phone call from Nick letting me know that he and Chad had finished the guitar work for “I Can’t Believe I Gave My Panties To A Geek” and were about ready to work on “I Gave Her My Heart And She Gave Me A Pen.”

Seth sent me over the rough mix sans vocals and I was floored.

My Hidden Track is most defiantly back… and if you’re not addicted yet… give us time… we will find a way into your hearts or bust our asses trying…

With any luck we will be done recording this week and after Seth takes a brief hiatus to play a few shows with Asteria he will return to his comfy ass blue chair to mix the album and have it ready for a late May/ June release.

Look for us on the road this weekend and keep checking our website YOURNEXTADDICTION.COM and our myspace for frequent recording updates, videos and photos from our days spent at Ampt Studios.

I await with nervous anticipation for you guys to hear this record…

With Hope, Love and Rock and Roll,
Chad
